At the Cannes film festival this year is a new movie about Zinedine Zidane, the mercurial French footballer. The movie follows him, and only him, through a Real Madrid game vs Villareal in real time. What I think is interesting about this is the way it takes him out of the usual context and perspective you have of a game and by doing this it gives a new context to the game of soccer. You see his mannerisms, his reactions to the actions of others, his ability to read the game. By changing the context the film totally changes the way you see a fairly typical thing. The trailer is here.
