    Quote of the day

I love quote of the day on quotationspage.com.  And today's quote by Edward R. Murrow, the legendary newscaster immortalized in Good Night and Good Luck  just summed up briliantly to me how so many brands get it wrong:

"Just because your voice reaches halfway around the world doesn't mean you are wiser than when it reached only to the end of the bar."

This became more relevant and made me laugh (in a  pained way) reading this week's Advertising Age and its list of the top 100 'megabrands' defined not by how meaningful or successful they are, but by how many media dollars they spend.  Remarkable.
