    do it yourself

This is the most interesting thing I've seen a musician do for a long, long time. Trent Reznor of nine inch nails has released his latest single as a Garageband file to let you remix it and generally, in his words, 'destroy' it. Says a lot about how the music industry is slowly evolving from a 'send' model to an interactive one. Also I would argue this is better marketing for Apple (albeit by accident) than any 'borrowed interest' from U2 and the like - really shows how the brand exists to unlock creativity from anyone.
